Robin del Castillo (Colombia)

Born in Cali Colombia in 1978, he discovered at the age of 7 that he had a real passion for Music. While growing up in a city where music was all around in its purest and most divers form, he listened to various types of songs and rhythms. The richness of this background gave him the ability to sing and dance many kinds of Latin American folk music (Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Bachata, Boléro, Ranchera, Reggaeton,Latin pop etc).

In 1994, at the age of 15, Robin participated in the TV program Soneros 4, a famous show at the time in Cali Colombia that was giving the opportunity to amateur singers to perform in public. This was the first time he sang in front of cameras and such a big crowd. Following the show, he received calls from numerous salsa bands in Cali. Among others, he took part in the Metropolitan Policy band during his military service.

In 1998, he joined Los Gomelos under the label of Sony Music, the Merengue Band under the label of “Los lideres de Venezuela”, and the Matecaña orchestra under the label of “FM Records”.

His career as a singer gave him the opportunity to visit many countries. One of them was England, where he decided to take base in 2001.

Living in London offered him the opportunity to launch his professional career as a soloist. After a couple of months, he became Robin Del Castillo, created his own Latin Band, and recorded 3 tropical albums. Two of them were made with very well known cover songs and the latest one is from his own inspiration.

Over the past nine years, Robin Del Castillo has been performing and taking part in the UK’s top Latin and British clubs and events, including private parties for celebrities, as for example the wedding of Mr. Martin Campbell, director of “Casino Royale”, and the birthday of Nobby Solano, famous football player of Newcastle.

In addition, he did musical accompaniment for internationally well-known salsa singers, like: David Pabon, Pedro Conga, Paquito Guzman, Luisito Carrion, Camilo Azuquita, Jose Bello and Mariano Civico, among others.

His success went beyond UK’s frontiers and extended to countries like: Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Dubai, Cyprus, Netherlands, Belgium where many people witnessed his talent and charisma on stage.

Robin Del Castillo is proud to present you this new album “Pa’Mi Tierra” with ten tracks. He is the author and compositor of eight of those songs and the other two are famous romantic Latin songs that he adapted to Salsa music. Here you will find a variety of Latin American rhythms, such as: Salsa, Boléro, Currulao, Bolero Cha Cha and Salsaton.
