Between 1990-1993 James started performing as lead singer of well established funk band called “liberty” at Xenons West End. He became the official host and had a regular spot hosting and introducing seasoned performers as well as showcasing new talent. In fact artists Like Jelisha Anderson and Carleen Anderson were very impressed by James's talent as his ability to entertain and host nights after nights. This led James being part of Jelisha's European tour as backing vocalist.
Later on Jelisha and James recorded on Carleen Anderson album "Galactica Moods"as backing vocalist
Carleen was inspired by his work and took him on board for future lucrative tours
They were also a support act for James Brown
It was untill 1995 when James B Coleman was asked to sign up with PUSH on the album "Cant fight it" replacing the famous "Seal" who left the band to seek his solo career.
James recorded and toured Europe where he met and became friends with (personally and professionally) Marco Abbatecola, and later on with Jules Pais and Miggy Barradas, Kofi Kari who have played for stars including: Tom Jones, The Divine Comedy, Noel McCoy, Jamiraqui, Soul 2 Soul and Walter Washington.
