Xmas Special with Espree feat. Rietta & Abi Gilchrist

Espree was formed in 1995 and since then they have performed all over the world at over 1500 events.  From a New Years Eve party on the beach in Dubai, to a wedding in a remote Scottish castle, the funky versatile musicians that make up Espree have been the first choice of Omani oil magnates, major corporate event planners and venues the world over.

The band can play to suit many types of event and occasion, but they are in their element when they are packing the dance floor with renditions of 70’s and 80’s funk classics.  Visitors to the 7 Seas can expect a mix of laid back jazzy tunes building up to a disco funk frenzy…!!!

The band line up will be Rietta Austin and Abi Gilchrist on vocals.  Both of these great singers have been to the 7 Seas before, Abi has been with the KLR events and other bands over the past year, she has a great tone for the jazzier side of things, but turn it on for the “in ya face” funk too.  What can one say about Rietta…?  She wowed the crowd at 7 Seas when she fronted Espree in May, her powerful voice and onstage personality make her a consummate entertainer.

Ross Power will be playing keyboards, Ross has extensive experience of many musical genres and bands.  He also composes music for film and television and runs his own UK based jazz quartet.

On bass we have Richard Finch-Turner, one of the Espree mainstays.  Richard lays down a solid groovy foundation that will get any floor moving…he is also known for his operatic surprises…!!!

Sitting behind the drums we have Andy Frost.  Not only is this guy a great drummer, he is also an incredible beat-boxer…he is guaranteed to amaze the audience with both of these rhythmic talents.

Supplying lead guitar will be another Espree stalwart, Chris Thorn.  He was one of the original members of Espree and has played with them since.  He is also involved with numerous original projects and a successful tribute band.
